What do we do in Drama?

Drama sessions range from workshop style sessions where we imporvise small scenes to looking at and working on scripts of various genres and by a range of writers.  This year we spent a lot of time looking at scripts by the writer Jim Cartwright, particularly his play 'Two'.  All sessions are fairly informal, but we do ask for commitment from those attending.

What is going to happen in Drama?

In the final term of the year we will be looking at a script called 'Dangerous Angels' and workshopping it and editing it as we go along.  After working on it for a few weeks we may then possibly perform it to a small audience.

Who leads Drama?

Jonny, the president of Bums on Seats currently leads Drama.  He is in his final year of training to be a primary school teacher and specialises in Drama.  He has taught Drama to children, has worked with youth theatres and did some Drama activities at a summer camp in America last year.

Drama happens on Thursdays in Baker Hall, Baker Building, City North Campus (Perry Barr).  It runs from 6pm and finishes by 8 (usually before).  It is free to attend sessions but to help with supplying scripts if you can email drama@bcubums.com to let Jonny know you are attending it would help quite a bit.  Don't worry if you don't email though, just turn up on the night!
